After almost 2 years

Hello again

Technology has been my enemy since I got my new phone.  I've struggled to connect and so couldn't upload any photos of projects.
I have continued to follow many challenge blogs, but had lost interest in creating for them for the above reason.  But ..... yesterday I saw the Gingham challenge from Double D.  I love the Gingham Gala papers from Stampin' Up and have had such fun making some cards with them.  There is an instant wow factor and they go with just about anything.

I used 3 SU stamp sets:
Wonderful Moments for the sentiment
Butterfly Gala for the butterflies
So Hoppy Together for the flies

The butterflies were  stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black so I could colour them with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends then punched out using the butterfly duet punch.  I then swiped each butterfly with Versamark and heat-embossed with clear powder.  They look amazingly glossy, though it's not so clear in the photo.

The flies were coloured with the same blend and the wings were coloured with a silver sparkle gel pen.

Finally, I flicked some black dots from my marker right across the white card.

Cards and paper:  lemon lime twist card base, black mat, lemon lime twist gingham paper and whisper white.  I die-cut the layers with the Paper Roses A6 stitched rectangle dies - especially sized for standard Australian cards.  I have had so much use out of these - it is such a treat to be working with the right shape for our cards.

Next question.......  Can I link this to the challenge?

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I hope to be back soon!

35 years

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 35 years and on this anniversary wanted to convey my hopes of growing old together.
Here is my card.

The stamp is by Deep Red and the punched hearts are covered with Glossy Accents to give an enamel look.  The watercolouring looks very pale here, but is a little stronger in real life.

My colour inspiration came from the Color Throwdown Challenge 444.

Thanks for looking.

A congrats card

This is for two challenges.  washi tape as the border and red felt for some texture (though it doesn't show in the photo).

Another colour challenge

I LOVE colour challenges.  This one from CAS Colours & Sketches used so saffron, pear pizzazz and wisteria wonder.  What a great, versatile selection.  There should be many terrific entries for this one.
The stamp I used is  SU Pretty Kitty and I put a small doily at the back.  Tim Holtz brick folder for the background.

Fun with feathers!

House of Cards has a "feathers" challenge.  I've already entered once, but have another card to submit.  Feathers are so wonderful to play with. This is a simple card with white embossing and sponging.

Getting more CAS??

Well, I've been trying to get more "white space" and I think I've achieved the CAS idea this time.

My entry is for Less is More (3 pastels), Addicted to CAS (Smiles) and Hand Stamped Sentiments (calypso coral, pool party & smoky slate).

This card makes me smile;  it reminds me of a song I used to sing with my children.  The words were something like this:

3 grey elephants balancing
step by step on a piece of string
thought it was such a wonderful stunt
that they called for another elephant

Happy memories!

Another Challenge Entry

This time it's for Less is More.  The brief is "3 pastels" and it worked so well using the Falling in Love DSP from Stampin' Up.  Colours used are Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla.

I've just gone to link this entry and I'm wondering whether it is "CAS" enough!  Perhaps I shouldn't have stamped on the background ... or perhaps I should have used vanilla as the base .......   Will wait and see if I can come up with something else.

I've tried again and hope this will have enough "white space".
I'll give it a go.  Same colour combo, but this time I've used the Beautiful You stamp.  Everyone seems to love this stamp; I've seen so many cards done with it.
